A Closer Look

Today’s blog post is going to be a little bit different. Normally, we talk business and fashion and style here. But today, I’m going to share some insights about myself so that you can get to know me better. Why? Well, because when you work with a personal stylist it is important that you feel comfortable with them. And getting to know someone a little bit better helps us become more comfortable with one another.

When I work with clients I will often ask them to share some of their goals with me. These goals can be work related, personal, big, little, whatever. Not only do their answers give me insights into what they want for their lives, they also help me start to understand their lifestyle (or ideal lifestyle) and get an idea for styles and aesthetics that will work for them. Also, sharing goals builds a connection between us and that is uber important for a stylist and their clients. It builds trust.

So, I thought that today, I’d share some of my goals with you. Some are big. Some are small. Some have to do with Your Chic is Showing. Others, not at all. And, I’m hoping that in the comments you’ll share one or two of your goals with me because I love getting to know you better! Ready? Here we go!

Goal #1: To Own a Real Estate Portfolio to Pass Down to Our Children

Thinking about our future empire.

One big, overarching goal that hubby and I have for our family is to create generational wealth and riches. The kind that gets passed down from generation to generation to generation. We want our great-great-great-great-great-times infinity grandkids to be set. We have some pretty big goals but one of them is to own a portfolio of real estate that can be passed down to each of our children. And, if we can, I’d like to buy property in the towns where they go to college so that they can have a place to live and we can eventually have additional residual income.

Goal #2: To Make Your Chic is Showing a Globally Recognized Brand

Pretty self explanatory here. I want to help people all over the world increase their confidence and elevate their style. It is my hope that our services and programs would be purchased all over the world. I also want to help other up-and-coming stylists and entrepreneurs grow their businesses by creating programs specifically for them. I’d also like to get into the angel investing and venture capitalism game.

Goal #3: To Workout at Least 3x per Week for a Full Year

I think I was 32ish weeks pregnant and still working out with my training regularly.

I used to go HARD with my workouts. Even when I was pregnant I was still hitting the gym at least 3 times a week. That has waned significantly. I want to get back to it and I want to be consistent. It might seem like a small goal but for me to keep that kind of consistency for 52 weeks would be MAJOR.

Goal #4: To Teach One of My Kids to Play Piano

Playing a little bit of dress-up to perform with one of my piano students.

I’m a classically trained pianist and I’d love for one of our three kids to pick it up. Also, by “teach” I don’t mean me teach. I mean “pay someone else to teach them and then I help them with their homework.” Have you ever tried to teach your kids to play an instrument? Torture. I used to teach piano lessons. I’ll pay someone to teach my kid(s) for sure!

Goal #5: To Go on Vacation Twice a Year

Taking a pause from our ATV tour in St. Lucia for this photo op. Take me back, please and thank you!

Again, probably not a huge deal for some people. But if Covid-19 has taught me anything, it’s that I’ll never, ever, ever take our vacations for-granted AGAIN! I want at least one family vacation and one escape just for me and hubby from now until forever.

Alright YCS Fam, it’s your turn. Tell me what some of your goals are in the comments. Don’t be shy!
