Welcome back to our second Wardrobe Essentials Style Series. If you missed last month’s series, go ahead and check it out here. We talked all about the Leather Jacket and why EVERYONE needs on in their closet. This month, I’m super excited to talk about t-shirts. Don’t look at me crazy . . . yes, we’re talking all about quality t-shirts and why you need them in your closet. Now I’m not talking your ratty HS or college t-shirt (though, Lord knows I have plenty of those laying around). I’m talking about well-made, quality t-shirts that can be worn casually or dressed up.
Why You Need a Quality T-Shirt (or five)
The short answer — versatility. Having good, quality t-shirts in your wardrobe will go a really long way. They can, obviously, be worn casually with jeans, leggings, or joggers. But you can also dress them up with cardigans, blazers, skirts or even a suit. They’re the perfect layering piece — you can stick a collared blouse or turtleneck underneath them or layer a chambray shirt and jacket over them. Truly, you can wear your t-shirts with ANYTHING!
Styles to Consider
T-shirts come in a lot of variety. I recommend having a plain white and plain black t-shirt in a round/crew neck and v-neck. After that, you can play with colors and styles to round out your collection. And don’t forget, having a few graphic or concert t-shirts to round out your collection will bring further versatility. You can check out some of my t-shirt recommendations in this month’s ShopShare Video. Bonus: you can shop each of the t-shirts featured in the video!
Not sure how to style your t-shirt? Check out some outfit inspo below from me and one of my clients.
